What is the flow rate of the SureCan fuel can?The SureCan fuel can releases fuel at an average rate of about 2 gallons per minute. For optimal performance, rotate the nozzle 180 degrees downward from its resting position.

Is SureCan available internationally?Yes, SureCan products are available in various countries, including Canada and Australia. If you are interested in becoming an international dealer, please fill out the form at the provided link.

Does SureCan use the new safety nozzles?No, SureCan does not use the new safety nozzles that are often difficult to operate. Instead, SureCan features a rotating spout at the bottom of the can and a thumb control button on top, eliminating the need for hard-to-use nozzles. Additionally, SureCan's vent is located beneath the thumb control button, which vents and opens the valve simultaneously when pressed.

Can I use menthanol in my SureCan?The SureCan is intended for gasoline, diesel, and kerosene fuel liquids and not intended for use with methanol. The material we have on the inside of our fuel cans is made of high quality nylon with Viton seals that are rated for the use of fuel and not methanol. Using methanol in your SureCan for a long period of time will result in a reduced flow rate.

Does SureCan sold in and can they be shipped to CaliforniaYes. In of May, 2022 SureCan passed the FM Approval to become a Type II Safety Can, and is legal in California.

The SureCan is made out of High Density Polyetholyne plastic (HDPE), and has 6 individual layers in the tank wall which makes it the most durable plastic fuel can available today!

Can I put water inside of my SureCan?SureCan fuel cans are intended for gasoline, diesel, and kerosene fuel liquids and not intended for use with water. SureCan does have Water specific use containers called the Utility SureCan with Spigot. These are intended to be used with water and other liquids for easy to use portable dispencing.

Is SureCan sold in and can they be shipped to Canada?Yes. Shipping rate vary based on shipping destination. We do also have various dealers throughout Canada.

Are SureCan Safety Cans OSHA and MSHA approved?Yes, SureCan Safety Cans meet OSHA and MSHA standard guidelines. They are also FM Approved (6051-6052) as Safety Cans, ensuring they adhere to stringent safety standards.

Does Proosition 65 apply to SureCan?We would like to make the following statement in regards to Proposition 65. To the best of our knowledge, there are no Proposition 65 chemicals present in this product at levels that would require warning under the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act.

Is SureCan DOT approved.Yes, SureCan Type II Safety Cans are DOT approved. This means that it meets safety standards set by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Signifying that it has specific design features to safely transport flammable liqauids like gasoline.

Will my SureCan leak out of the vent under the thumb control button if the can tops over or is placed upside down?No. SureCan's thumb safety trigger securely seals the vent on top of the can. The thumb button assembly is made up of two main parts, the thumb button itself and the safety trigger. The vent does not open or release any air unless the safety trigger is pulled straight back and then depressed down with the main thumb button.

Can the Utility SureCan products be used for drinking water?Yes! The Utility SureCan w/ Spigot and the Utility Transfer Tank is BPA Free and can be used for potable drinking water.

What is the difference between the Multipurpose Utility Tank and the Utility SureCan w/ Spigot?Our Multipurpose Utility Tank was designed for use with many differnent types of liquids that include but are not limited to, Diesel Exhause Fluid (DEF), windshield wiper fluid, water, coolant, etc. It comes built with our 9" blue rotating spout and makes it easy to access many different types of fill resevours. Our Utility SureCan w/ Spigot was designed primiarly for convenience in dispensing water. The main difference from our Utility Tank is that it comes built with a Spigot in place of the blue spout. The Utility Spigot end can be removed and also used for other liquids such as DEF, coolant, and wiper fluid.

How do I install the SureCan Utility Spigot assembly?Remove the Utility Tank’s factory spout using a wrench. Grab spout elbow, twist, and pull assembly away from the body of the Lubricate o-rings with water on new assembly. Insert the end of the Spigot attachment into the valve opening, (NOTE: Press straight into the valve opening until fully seated). Hand tighten nut (careful not to overtighten or cross threads).SureCanUSA | Best Gas Can Use thin black Velcro to strap thumb button down on the handle. Rotate Spigot attachment down into desired position When ready lift spigot lever to dispense water. (Apply additonal Velcro to the side of the Utiliity Can for mounting optional soap dispenser. Soap dispenser not included.)

Can the Utility SureCan products be used with regular or mixed fuels?The Utility SureCan products are intended for non-fuel based liquids such as, but not limited to: Water Wiper Fluid Coolant Diesel Exhaust Fluidetc (DEF). The SureCan Utility products are not intended for use with gasoline, diesel, kerosene, or any other fuel-based product. Use with fuel based liquids will void your product warranty.

How do I install the SureCan replacement spout assembly?SureCan's replacement spout fits on any size can 2.2 Gallon or 5 Gallon. It is easy to replace and install. Please follow the instructions below on how to properly replace your Spout Assembly 1. Pry locking pin up w/ small screwdriver (Carful not to damage the can wall). 2. Loosen the nut. 3. Grab spout elbow, twist, and pull assembly away from the body of the can. 4. Lubricate O-rings on the new assembly. 5. Insert the end of the spout assembly into the valve opening. (NOTE: Press strait into the valve opening until fully seated) 6. Hand Tighten nut and then wrench tighten until the pin reaches the 1 O'clock position, (careful not to over tighten or cross threads.) 7. Press locking pin down. Watch the Replacment Video

How do I install the SureCan thumb button assembly?SureCan's replacement Thumb Button Assembly fits on any size can 2.2 Gallon or 5 Gallon and is easy to replace and install. Please follow the instructions below on how to properly replace your Thumb Button Assembly 1. Remove old rivet pins w/ diagonal hand cutters, CAUTION: Do not use power tools near fuel cans during replacement assembly. NOTE: May be necessary to cut away at the plastic portion of the thumb button to get to the rivets 2. Position thumb button assembly over pivot hole. 3. Insert #10 machine screw through thumb button spring and pivot hole of the can. 4. Insert second #10 machine screw through thumb button and lift rod hole. 5. Tighten #10 nuts onto the screws until the screw is flush with the nut. Watch the Replacment Video

How do I submit a warranty for my SureCan product?We stand by our products! For warranty questions please call customer service at 801-827-0500 or email us at warranty@surecanusa.com. We recommend that you have your product near your or have the date stamp information to provide when you call. For Warranty Claims: Submit below, please be as descriptive as possible in your message. Information from your product is required.

Where is the date stamp located on my Surecan?The date stamp on every SureCan product is located on the can behind the spout when it is in the up resting position. To help locate your stamp rotate the spout down 90 degrees to gain a better view of the can. The number in the middle signifies the year and the number the arrow is pointing to is the month it was manufactured in. This date stamp will be requested with all Warranty Claims.
